I think most people would like to start D3 season with a very efficient character so you can kill stuff, find gear and sell that on AH as fast as possible and make some gold/money.

I personally would love to play with barb because it's just so cool, nice skills and I love melee class. But on the other hand I want very efficient and fast killing character. I would definitely sacrifice coolness to get a fastest killing character in the beginning of the season. For example in D2 no one smart would start new ladder season with barbarian because it's very weak and kills very slow without godly gear, everyone just takes sorceress or paladin. Now this game is not D2. In D3 all classes have fast movement skills and mass AOE skills so all classes are more efficient. Especially after recent change to wizards/WD skills, which now depends on weapon damage. This is great because you no longer can have poorly dressed wizard killing much faster than melee class - now everyone depends on its weapon.

So what do you guys think would be the most efficient/fast killing class? Is barb can be as fast at killing stuff as wizard?

I don't really care, I'd just start with Barbarian as always, and use all classes eventually (yeah it'd take ages I guess). I agree with you there mate, Barb is my fave too, and I do prefer melee, especially since Barbarians are unsurpassable in strength and attacking ability.
