uhh, no duh getting 99 in a bunch of skills will make you mills... Everyone knows that. Sure, you makes mills, but it takes a while to get the stage of huge profit. There are quicker ways out there.
I vote NAY due to the fact of....NO DUH
Totally agreed. You have to invest in a skill to gain money in the long run. It's not 100 percent true in some cases. Getting 99 in a skill could cost more than you'd receive (like Prayer, Cooking, and Firemaking) Sure they are nice capes, but they are money wasters. With Prayer, you make no money. With Firemaking you are literally burning cash and with cooking, you sell more for raw than you do cooked and unless you are fishing for your own fish you gain zero profit. With smithing, you don't need 99 to be a millionaire, just get the skill up to the highest point you need to be able to access everything and figure ways to make money from there.
Like mining, you don't need 99 mining to be a millionaire, you can mine to 85 and be able to collect runite ores. From there you can make the money, and if you do it enough, sure get 99. My goal isn't to bust my bum for a 99 skill, it just comes as I make profit off of the things I do. Sometimes doing the highest level of a skill isn't even worth the money.
Since you brought up Smithing, here is a little hint:
Runite Ore: 15.2k
Coal: 197 x8 - 1,576
Runite Bar: 17.4k
Total Cost to Make: 16.7k
Profit = 824 Coins. (Some days you make more, some less)
Here is the funny part:
1 R.O + 8 C.O = 9 (Inventory holds 28)
You can only make 3 Runite Bars per inventory, leaving one free space.
That makes 2.4k gain per inventory, but giving you only 50 EXP per ore. (Slow much?)
Platebody for example does require 99 Smithing to make, however look at the price runite bars are. ( 17.4k x 5 = 87k )
The Platebody requires 5 runite ores and the item itself is worth 72.7k
Amount Lost: 14.3k
Is a 99 really for making millions? No.
The path you choose to make the money guarantees the amount of money you will gain, or in a lot of cases lose.
Nay.
