When the nation war begins, find a base that your nation hasn't captured yet.
Stand by that base until the guardian is defeated. As soon as its defeated, capture the base. Do it quickly so the legacy weapon will drop and you can easily loot it.
If someone happens to captuer it first go to another base that your nation hasn't captured and start again.
