Before going into rookland you appear in tutorial island, if you wish to get REALLY USEFUL items for free you should make it, if you want it the hard way, talk to the NPC and tell him to jump this tutorial.
The signs on the tutorial helps you out on all of it, no need of explaining this.

A1-Getting started in Rookland

As you might know, all newcomers start in a temple in Rookland (after tutorial island) that its positioned in the center of the city.
Lets start!
First set your desired outfit,
Then head north, left to the first sewer you see and then up...
the guy in the shop buys corpses (good money can be get in it!) do a mark to set the shop in your map.
Then, if up there you see a building (straight up and close to it) where you'll start Lvl.ing up. When you enter into the hole at top left of it you enter a room with one rat. Equip your weapon and start fighting it (click "Battle" button and select it from list or just simply ALT GR+ click on the monster).

B1- Rookland tips

First of all, go to the Hole on the building to get your free doublet (CNTRL+click) on the tile down to the letter on the wall...
Equip it, then enter to the sewer doing the same as for getting the doublet (the one that is too on the center of the city, click on it for more cave and rats)
Then get some rat corpses and sell them out with the guy down of the rat building.
You can get at least 50 GP out of it to buy a Mace (with is the best club from rookgard) and like 45 GPS for a shield (wich helps you a LOT on avoiding trouble).
Also visit: go left from the temple and go left until you find some sheeps, kill them and provide yourself with food.
Get to level 2 at least to go onto the next topic

C1- Getting from 5 to 8 fast!

first of all (again...), is not allowed (you need to fight until you die, or try to save yourself) Its mostly recommended to start with trolls (When going through the bridge, go north till you find stairs) or take on some spiders to be prepared (wich are up on the stone stairs left from half way to the normal stairs). After that, if you feel safe try killing your first troll at the normal stairs Dungeon entry, guarded by a rat (doh), try exploring the entire cave by yourself (can be dangerous but is worth of the risk) wich it helps out lvling fast (orcs and trolls are in), get your self with some food and if you find, health potions (there's a secret shop that offers it, because i've once had HPS)
