A few times when running missions when I started playing I'd taken some heavy damage and quickly ran back to docks with my tail between my legs. I had equipment on that would allow me to repair myself, but found that I couldn't undock to use it, and was charged a hefty repair bill. I figured there had to be some way around it and there is. Armor plates.

Side note: If you use the armor plates you will get the hps from those plates repaired for free before you even undock.

Ok so anyway you're in docks and you can't undock without repairing. I'm going to assume you have the armor plates equipped already.

1: Open the fitting window and remove the armor plates.

2: Switch your active ship...shuttles are cheap and I have one at almost every station that I've been to. If you don't have one...buy one they can be as cheap as 2500isk.

3: Wait out the whatever second timer and switch back to your original ship.

4: Re-equip your armor plates.

Your ship will be able to undock now and the hps equal to what your armor plates give you will be "repaired" with no charge to you. You can then use your modules to repair the rest of the damage to your armor and hull, and your shield should already be recharged from docking. Any amount of hps restored to your armor should allow you to undock, so if you're not using any armor plates consider carrying around a set of 50mm armor plates in your cargohold and equip them there. Of course you could always just not dock but then you're more of a sitting duck for someone to pick off quickly and then jet.

Sounds good apart from the fact you cannot outfit a shuttle has to be a ship.

If you just do a "stuck character" report to CCP you will be taken care of in less than 15 minutes. This is a bug and they will help you and it costs nothing.

i dont think CCP will help u with this matter, u are responsible for the problem urself, and u can fix it by paying the station or doing it urself by adding the plates, and no u dont need to jump on a shuttle first to get it working, [as was told, and no he didnt mean that u can fit mods on a shuttle].

Actually, a friend gave me a tip... Just switch to your pod and back into your ship. It will let you undock. I was stuck in a station w/no repair facility.
