For those of you who think you can 'steal' or 'hack' an account using the Account Management system, you are very wrong.
They are not going to give you an account when you provide insufficient information. Just because you added the word 'suicide' does not guarantee any success.
Remember, most of these submissions are not done by hand, but through a working system which checks each bit of information you provide and matches it up with any previous account details.
If in fact you were lucky enough to get an actual person to check your submissions, they are even harder to fool because they are not some piece of artificial intelligence. They have a brain, and they know that people like us, sadly, use the suicide card as well as other piteous excuses to obtain an account that may or may not have been ours.
Insufficient account information is the downfall to all of these plots, no matter how detailed the reason being was.
Put it in this perspective,
Let's say that I wanted to steal your account. It could be 1 hour, or even 1 year since you last played. It doesn't make a difference. I go to account management to recover "my (which is really your) account." I type in a bunch of fake information for recoveries (if you set them) as well as fake previous passwords along with the other fine details. Finally, I make a sap story about how RuneScape is my life and if I don't get "my account" it could in fact be the reason leading to my suicide. -- You can add in another story, but just follow along with mine.
I wait after the tracking code was sent in, and of course it didn't work. Why? Because it was never YOUR account, you are on a completely different I.P. address, and yes a lot can change manually or even just unplugging a modem does the trick, but there is a chance that the person who really owned the account had an internet service that didn't give him/her random I.P addresses with every log, so the first time the account was ever recovered was done on a foreign computer.
Rewind time! Let's say this did in fact work, now you may have been my level, 136, and a strong player for years. Out of the blue though, someone stole your account? How? Fake account information?
If fake account information could get us an account we wanted, then why does Jagex even provide us with a chance to set up a secure way to ensure the safety of our accounts. It would cancel out the meaning of 'Recoveries'. You might as well just go into the main page, create 'Zezima' and type in a password that you made up not two seconds ago.
These do NOT work, no matter how detailed they get. If the information is incorrect, your outcome will also be negative.
Another thing to add, those people who had accounts with no recoveries make retrieving their account that much harder. Jagex Support is not able to give an account back to a person who did not set up recoveries.
If you put the previous story and add it on to this situation, the outcome is the same. Insufficient evidence in the beginning relays no information to Jagex. Meaning, 'you snooze you lose'. If you created an account that was originally yours and you just so happened not to have created recoveries then the chances of you getting that account back are slim to none. If you think about that, what are the chances of a complete stranger obtaining an account with no recoveries? They can't provide any information as for recoveries, and no passwords either since they are stealing the account and never knew the password remember? They don't know when it was created, or the IP/Internet Provider they used. They don't have an e-mail address set up, or even the last time the account had membership. Alls they have is one paragraph explaining why the account was 'theirs' and how badly they 'want it back'.
It doesn't work that way you guys, think about it.
Even if this worked in the past, look at RuneScape now. Notice how much they have cracked down, they wouldn't let something as serious as account stealing slip through. That means a loss of money for them, and loss of many paying customers who find the game to be unsafe.
Anyone who has any input on this matter, feel free to post here.
