1.) Where do I begin? Let's just say - I learned a couple lessons from my stupidity today. I'd like to share so that maybe someone will learn and not make such an expensive error.

2.) I'm a N00B with 1.6 million skill points. I joined EO a couple years back - and trained my character hard for a couple months. I just reactivated my account Friday. I'm Caldari. I owned (notice that is past tense) an Osprey (cruiser) that was pretty well outfitted for such a N00B.

3.) Well, I'm looking at all the stuff I can buy for my ship and start to realize that I need to train standard missiles to at least (3) to be able to train the skill (I've forgotten its exact name now) that would allow me to outfit my Osprey with cool missiles.

4.) Well, I'm embarrassed to admit it - but I need to start the tutorial over but have no idea how to. So I decided instead to go on the market and buy the skills I knew I'd use at some point (like Eidetic Memory, Focus, Weapons upgrades, etc.). Then I undocked and set the destination to the closest skill(s) I'd just purchased.

And then I started dinner :)

5.) Yep, I would walk by my monitor and check that I was still Warping to my destination. Then I'd dock and train the skills I'd purchased to get them into my inventory. Then I'd undock and head to the next skill.

6.) Then I took my dog outside. 3 minutes tops! When I came back to my monitor - my ship wasn't 'visible'. Then I realized that my ship had been destroyed and I'd been pod killed. I know I richly deserved it for leaving my computer, but God I just wanted to exercise vengence.

7.) So now I have kill rights on (3) characters - but I have no idea how "bad ######" they are and if I stand a chance in hell of "teaching them a lesson".

8.) My clone was resurrected in a station that doesn't have a cheap shuttle to purchase.

Lessons learned:
a.) I will not walk away from my keyboard without a wingman ever again!
b.) I will leave my well-equipped ship docked and take out an expendable ship when picking-up supplies.
c.) I won't underestimate the lethality of PvP ganking!

If you got killed by a warp gate then you managed to get urself into a 0.0 zone owned by a corp. Most gates in a system 0.1 and up have turrets protecting gates and bases. They camp gates into their systems to protect their turf. Also you can cut your traveling time in half by warping manuely.

You should get a rookie ship after being pod killed. And remember to buy a new clone!
