Well, maybe not ease, but very doable if you know what you are doing. I will break down the strategy I used for these battles.

First of all max your summoning skill. You only need level 3 fame to do the solo quest, so make sure you have lvl 3. Buy yourself some decent lvl 20 gear and I reccomend using the Hermit's Wand to help prevent from being interrupted while trying to cast Carbuncle. Buy potions and lots of them, you will need at least 2 Hi-ethers, 3 Hi-potions (saftey measure) and 3 Yagudo drinks. Get protect 3 and Shell 3 if you can, it helps but I didnt have it for each fight so not absolutely necessary. Cast aquaveil on yourself just before entering.

Ok when you enter the battle area, you will be located at the bottom of a big ramp that leads up to the Avatar. Halfway up the path it makes a sharp curve to the right. Stop here and cast Carbuncle, immediately use Yagudo drink afterwards. Continue up the ramp to the Avatar and have Carbuncle Attack. Immediately use Astral Flow and then Searing Light. This will take about a third of the creatures hitpoints. Sear as you know also drains all of your manapoints, but the Yagudo Refresh will keep Carb from releasing. As soon as you sear, run down to the sharp curve where you initially cast Carbuncle. Use a Hi-Ether to restore enough manapoints for another Sear and by this time you will proabably need to cast Carbuncle again. Re-engage with Carb when the Avatar gets to you and Sear for a 2nd time as soon as it becomes available. Run down to the bottom near the crystal while Carbuncle continues to fight. Now it's time for another Yagudo and another Hi-Ether. Recast Carb again and repeat step 1 and 2. Third Sear will mean dead Avatar 90 percent of the time. If not he will be close enough for another Carb to finish him off.

Note: Use Hi-potions when you need, they are fast cast time and recover a good bit of hitpoints for you. If Carb gets eaten fast at one point by the Avatars 2 hour, dont panic, just recast and count on that Hermit's Wand, Aquaveil, and those Hi-potions to carry you through. Also a note about Shiva and Garuda. They both had a damage absorber on them at the beginning. With these two do not use Flow/Sear right away because it will do 0 damage. Let the first Carb melee and start the Astral/Sear process with your 2nd Carbuncle. Also for Ramuh, have Paralyna memorized if you sub whm.

My Record

Shiva 1 Me 1

Garuda 0 Me 1

Titan 0 Me 1

Ifrit 0 Me 1

Ramuh 0 Me 1

Lev 0 Me 1

Yes folks I only lost once with this strat and that was because I burnt a Sear on Shivas damage absorber for 0 damage. Stil got her to 5 percent. Average clear time for my fights are 4 minutes.

lil hint to save you wasting time and money getting pots and getting ready for the fight...

get level 6 fame everywhere is first thing you have to do

when you unlock these your smn is normally unlocked too so this means you will have played for some time now so you will have meeted atleast one or 2 lv75s

nearly every 75 job can solo the avatars given the right gear, sub job & skill

I normally kill these for fun on my char and i make a decent 10k a kill

My records and jobs...

BLM/RDM or /NIN
Shiva 7/8
Ifrit 4/8
Garuda 14/14
Ramuh 1/2
Levi 3/6
Titan 13/14

RDM/NIN
Shiva 12/12
Ifrit 4/4
Garuda 1/1
Ramuh 2/2
Levi 1/1
Titan 1/1
Fenrir 2/3

WAR/NIN (some pots needed)
Shiva 1/1
Ifrit 1/1
Garuda 1/3
Ramuh 1/2
Levi 1/1
Titan 1/2

I think that these odds are very good but dont try this unless you are experienced solo'er and have decent equipment because you will fail, for me BLM is the fastest and easiest job to solo them on as soon as you got the strategy they become really easy
Unless you are RDM I can solo any of them in bronze gear (excluding fene)

I think that every job can solo the avatars exept SCH and maybe COR other than that I have seen all other jobs solo them

So aslong as you can get some high level help you should be perfectly fine
