Neillife http://neillife-lol.blogspot.com/2009/08/neillife-40.html and StreetLife http://www.streetlife.1-8-7.co.uk/downloads.html

Right click on an avatar to view and download the clothing and skin textures, and right click on the avatars attachments to copy them. Built in Copybot - right click on an object to export it to your hard drive, then import it back into game from the file menu - the object will be full permissions with you as the creator. Both downloads are from the original creators sites and are free. No they cant copy scripts.

I wonder how you can be absolutely sure that Neillife is "100% safe", or rather, what do you mean by "100% safe" anyway? It's definitely 100% safe... for Neal. As for the rest of the world, you'd have to go through the 20 million+ lines of code, one by one, to see if they're so safe as you proclaim.

Cant be more close to truth than this statement. He NEVER released any source code since his "free and open source" v4.x. So, unless somebody spent crapload of time debugging it, sniffing packets in and out statement is 100% false.

What "false complaints" do you have in mind? My apology to Neil was just that I got a translated notecard claiming that I had created this viewer. Neil pointed out that he never sent such a notecard, and he's probably right: the notecard was in Portuguese, and Neil doesn't read/write the language. So I apologised for that.

If you feel that you should apologize to him, I feel very sorry for you. From what i have read online by simply googling it, I still havent found single blog (that is not owned by him or his alts) that say anythign good in his favor. Most of them accuse him for stealing other code in implementing it in his viewer, and after all creating viewer that can rip SL content creators work, cant be fair in any way.

Well, I'm far more patient and benevolent :) What he did or not, I don't know; I only know about rumours, lies, and what Neil writes on his own blog. And, of course, from what directly happened to me: all of a sudden, a notecard to encourage people to download Neillife was spread, using my avatar name as the notecard's creator, as if I endorsed it. As said, I had no choice but to publish an official disclaimer; I'm not famous enough in SL for people to know I would never create something that clearly violates LL's ToS. Since the notecard was translated in Portuguese — I've heard rumours there are copies in many languages, all listing me as creator, but I just saw that one — and Neil clearly doesn't speak Portuguese, I did apologise to him for implying he had written the notecard. He didn't, but he might have paid someone to translate it (he claims otherwise :) ). I don't know. That's just wild speculation on my part.

What I do know is that Neillife's viewer is not allowed to connect to LL's grid. Starting this month, LL has become more aggressive about what's allowed and what isn't. You can take a look at the new guidelines and a list of allowed viewers at the Viewer Directory. (As of today, this list was still empty)
