I took a little break from wow and when i started playing again i decided to check the elite part of mmorpgudies (i had gotten an elite membership by posting a working guide.) and when i come back to the forums my elite membership is gone with no messages in my in box at all.

I don't think that it was taken away... It just ran out. To become an elite member again, you can post another working guide or cheat. I know that your Elite membership isn't taken away from being inactive because I've seen posts by elite members with people who bought elite memberships and haven't gone on the forums for a year or more, ad are still elite members.
Like you, I earned a free elite membership from posting a working guide, and it runs out. For example, I was given a free membership on September 13, 2009 for a working guide, and it will last until February 13, 2010. Hope this helps, and it shouldn't be that hard to post a good submission and get your elite back!

Yes, your elite status did not get taken away, it just ran out.

We give out Free Elite Membership to the equivalent of how amazing the post is. For Example, a simple money making guide can earn you say, if its good, a week-month of free elite.
