Well, this method is well know, i think. But anyways..

i made 480m and im still making more.

This method of making money requires 6 people (or more) with a total amount of money equaling around 500m.

FIRST, Select an item that isnt going up, such as kwuarm seeds, ruby amulets, items like that.

SECOND, You and all you're friends have to invest ALL you're money into that item in the Grand Exchange, buy at max.
It will take a couple days to buy them all.

Hold onto the item untill it rises 6k

FINALLY, You and you're friends must sell the item when it rises about 6k.

If you invest 50m into and item that is 3k, you'll have about 16.7k of the item, then you'll sell 16.7k of the item when it rises, and you'll have about 150m.

That's very easy money, but a little time consuming.

I hope you enjoyed -

Isnt that like a buyout clan? People think that buyout clans are ruining the grand exchange.

they are ruining the ge...the ge was ruined when it was made lol...it was a horrible addition to runescape along with trade limits..but

this does work i have done it before..although when it is time to dump...you cant! not until it drops back down again lol..its so pointless..and you get the illusion of money until your entire clan is selling at minimum haha..

i have done this quite a bit..what i did though was because the item that we made unstable and turned to junk was a popluar item that people wouldnt suspect to be unstable i traded it off for dragon full helms and then sold the dragon full helms for cash at mid. i ended up making 300% profit doing that and didnt have to take a cut from my profit by waiting for it to sell. i think in all i made 9m.

it was good but the items have to be items that 1. you can buy out and 2. that people wouldnt suspect to be unstable. also it helps to get new members to come into this and keep buying as it raises because obviously they will keep raising the items price that way as it is created into the rs economy..also overshoot your goal sell price and dump earlier than planned for the sake of getting new members to think the item is not even close to dump time yet thus making them want to buy.

this is a good money making method..but i put more time into it and didnt get any skills..im going to vote nay because i am tired of merchanting methods being posted because everyone knows them..

this was even allover runescape forums so yeah..not valuable.

But whats the Point if 6 peoples money already equal 500 mil? that means that each of you already have about 75-90 mil. Wouldn't it be a much better Idea to invest in an item with great gain potential such as a godsword hilt or a godsword blade?

never..i dont know why people do that lol..it is much better to invest in an item that is low in price..you can buy more that way. buying in volume always makes more than buying expensive items..although..if there is an update you can do things like speculation merching. like when dragon plate was released i bought 100 dragon platelegs and they shot up like 150k by the time i sold i think it was..no actually shot up 200k when i sold i made alot of money that next day haha

I prefer High valued Items because they Have a greater Fluctuation rate. For example a godsword hilt might change price around 500k a week but 1 million water tunes may only rise 1 coin every month or so, The Higer valued Item the greater the Risk and I prefer to buy Items that are a couple million coins and make a nice 500k to 1m gain instead of investing in a low price item with little change.

The Market Kind of works like this (Im sorry for the Bike anology)

Low price items 1 coin to 20k

These Items are like a bike with training wheels. They're safe and have a low chance of taking a nose Dive. they can change about 1 coin to 2k per item. They are good to invest in if you have about 100k-300k

Medium price items 20k to 150k

These are the Items that most people tend to buy they are like a tricycle, Not quite as much wheels as a bike with training wheels but still may change in price of about 1-5k. good to invest in if you have 300k-500k.

High price items 150k-500k

These items are like a mountain bike with big fat wheels. Its easy to ride but it can change often with a gainloss of about 10-50k. these are good to invest in if you have about 1 million coins

Extremely High price items 500k+ these items are like those road bikes with Really thin wheels that can fall oftenly and if your not careful a lot. These can bring gains or losses of about 100k to 1 million coins. but are the most risky bet to go with. these are good to invest in if you have at least 10 million coins and like to take risks

Again sorry for the Bike analogy

idk about you but at one time i was a business major for some time in college. and have read and read and read..i also have studied to be an arbitrageur in real life. do you know what that is? well in short it is a merchant.. entrepreneurial sciences ftw!

lets take a look here..

luckily i dont have 300-500k lol..no i have roughly 80m..not much..but i have waisted too much on powerleveling skills for the heck of it..

lets just take a look at your "training wheel" items most of those items range from 50-100gp..for the sake of this i wont even chose the max. lets say 400gp per item. this 400gp per item may fluctuate 30gp up and 30gp down from its average mid. so i will say profit is normally around 20gp from buy to sell.

80m=200k units. 200k units*20gp=4m gp increase in cash! haha yay..

the "training wheel" items you claim to be so bad..really are not so bad..its called BUYING IN VOLUME like i said before...i think this definitely beats your 500k-1m one items.

the item i normally merch with that i will not disclose is very popular for certain people so it rises and falls frequently.

i normally buy at 690 and sell at 760. this is a 70gp profit per unit

i can buy 115.9k units with 80m. and 115.9k units* 70gp= 8,113,000 that is a little over 8m gp and normally takes 3-4 days..solo

so i mean if you want to keep on playing with your little kid big items that EVERYBODY AND THERE DOGS does.. go for it ;)

Unknown merchanting clan was the one who ended up buying out whips, though since the item is extremely popular and well known, people outside of their clan ended up taking interest in the idea of spiking the prices. :P
Do not buy a whip until they drop! Do not buy Amulet of Fury either, they will drop once the price of Onyx is fixed.

In my home world, we have people who will start forcing the prices of these items to fall drastically, so if you keep checking every so often, you might get lucky and actually catch the item when it falls BELOW its 'normal' price.

-----------------------------

Getting back to the whole idea of becoming a merchant and buying out items~

It's really having to do with picking and choosing..I myself actually HATE the concept of being a buy-out merchant..
I AM one to brag and I can say I have amazing stats, (posted as my signature) that I make amazing money with already. The only thing I could think of that is close to me merchanting is *base skilling. Either that or joining Clan Chats belonging to 'wefightge' or '2lum' for example and if they are buying out an item I can easily obtain by skilling, I will most likely gather some and hold it until the price spikes. I did it with Willow Branches, but the noobs dropped it, so I am left with 100 somethin' that I actually plan on using for summoning now.. :P

Big waste of time if you aren't maxed in all of your skills..You could actually make money THROUGH skilling or at least getting to the point where everything is able to be equipped. (high combat stats, finishing quests and so on)
That way you can get items you WANT and actually play the game the right way instead of ruining the concept of RuneScape for others.

I strongly nay this for a couple reasons, one being it is a crap way of playing RuneScape, it is too well known, as well as you having to have a lot of money to begin with and also a lot of friends who have money..500m with six people is pretty much 100m per person. (not quite, but pretty damn close..)

Merchanting =/= Good gaming techniques.

Soon everyone who is a merchant is going to screw our economy up so much that having 100m will be considered the average players wealth. I can see it now, whips will be worth 400m and phats would be worth 1.7 Billion :P
Game will be ruined!

Jacob.

Listen guys there really is no point of doing this if you and your friends already have 75-90 million gp.I mean if you got that much money you would probably be a member, have alt accounts, and have really good ways of making money yourself, and as yankme said once you buy the item it doesn't go up in price so you get no profit.

Now if you still consist on MERCHANTING (if you read the pinned posts you would notice not to post subjects on MERCHANTING)then there is a clan you can join in-game by going to the clan tab and joining the clan by typing in goldmerch or I think this is another one and it's called goldmerchest but i dont know if goldmerchest is a clan.

One more thing you should know about these clans are that you can not talk in the clan chat. You also should know that most things they buy are MEMBERS-ONLY (example:yew seed).Hope that clears eveything up for everyone.

Also if you didn't read all the pinned info from 'Glory' these are the things that you should not post about and will get your topic deleted:
Mining in General for Money
Killing Green Dragons
Killing Cows
Tanning Hides
Mining Pure Essence
Wine of Zamorak
Picking Flax
Spinning Flax
Fishing...
MERCHANTING (Stay Away)
Smithing Steel Bars
Clay Mining
Clay to Soft Clay
Killing Chaos Druids for Herbs

Good luck on finding cheats, guides, and whatever here! grin.gif
