So, I've got the CT addon, which works great, and it looks like it'll do part of what this new addon I'm trying to get, the "Gatherer" addon, does. This is what I'm looking for, something that will help "locate" ore for my miner profession. I downloaded this addon from:

http://www.curse-gaming.com/en/wow/addons-44-1-gatherer.html

Right now the server I have my character with this profession is down, so unfortunetly I'm going to wait to test this out. If this works then this means that any addon can be used on a Mac, just simply by gutting (Ok, to be more specific, highlighting and dragging to the appropriate file.) the file once downloaded and moveing it to the

..worldofwarcraft/interface/addons file

If this doesnt work then I'll still have to dig some, and eventualy I'll try to compile a list of all the Mac compatible addons that I've come up with. I hope this helps other Mac users.

Sincerely,
Lleo

I myself am playing on a Mac, and I use addons extensively (Gatherer being one of them). I Have to date only encountered a half dozen addons that are actually OS dependent and not Game dependent. They work the same way on a Mac as they would on a PC.

Well, abouth the gatherer addon:
first and most important: WORKS WITH ORE (MINNING) AND HERBS (HERBALISM) AS WELL AS TRESURES. that meance that u wil be able to record and c where the cores are. And belive me guys, tis is useful when you are in shatt and u need a few bars of Ada cuz now u know where to look for (this also inluced the time that takes to spam)
in the particualr case of the mac i will suggest to NOT use the add from curse, but instead use the link from the original page:
http://www.gathereraddon.com/

here u will find 2 main files u need. 1 is the addon it self, the other one is a database (verry verry good one) with all the cores in Azeroth and Out Land. the best part is that u can share with people that doesn't have this add.

But i Stress this part, get the add from the main page becouse it will work with the current version of the game, while the version of curse.com is not allways properly actualized.
cheers and enjor your farming!

and one more thing, once you have downloaded the add and the DB folder (DB = DataBase), place them on your addon folder. ok, then u run WoW, and once you get in with your character, richt click on the icon by the minimap there u go to "config" (the option on the gatherer window) and there under (to the left) u have the option of Database, click, and them "update".
MAKE SURE THAT YOU ARE NOT ON A FIGHT OR RUNNING AWAY, this proces last about a min (depends of your computer, i got a iMac 2gh speed and 1gb ram) and will lag your computer (not the conection).
there you have, your map well overload of information, a real pain to watch that!!! cool! go to the tab "display" and selec what u want to c on the maps.
ENJOY!!!!!

i do believe he meant downloading this lags your puter so naturally you don't want to be in a fight or fleeing from a fight if your lagging, otherwise you will die! ouch.gif
